Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle reclaimed the top spot at the box office with an estimated $10.93 million during Superbowl weekend. Sony's box office champ has made over $855 million worldwide. Coming in at #2 is Maze Runner: The Death Cure with an estimated $10.5 million. The finale of The Maze Runner series couldn't even hang onto pole position for more than one weekend. Not a good sign.
Meanwhile Hugh Jackman's musical The Greatest Showman continues its strong run, in its seventh week in the top ten, at #4 with an estimated $7.7 million. The musical has made an impressive $290 million dollars worldwide and, against all odds, will probably continue its fantastic run due to its very positive word of mouth.
The only newcomer to the top ten, the horror film Winchester, finished with an estimated $9.3 million, good enough for 3rd on the slow weekend. Next weekend will see three wide releases, the 'Climax' of the Fifty Shades of Grey series, Fifty Shades Freed, Clint Eastwood's The 15:17 to Paris, and Sony's awful looking Peter Rabbit thing.
