Maze Runner: The Death Cure overthrew the previous box office champ, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, for the top spot at the box office with an estimated $24.2 million. Jumanji, on the other hand, managed to finish second with an estimated $16.14 million. The box office giant has made over $822 million worldwide for Sony and doesn't seem to show any signs of slowing down.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi fell out of the top ten for the first time. The box office behemoth has made an estimated $1.31 billion for the House of Mouse and might finally be running out of steam. The film is currently the 9th highest grossing film of all time.
The only other newcomer to the top ten was a Bollywood film, Padmaavat, which snuck into the top ten, at #10 with an estimated $4.4 million. The film will probably fall out of the top ten next weekend. Speaking of, next weekend only one major wide release, the horror film Winchester. So don't expect the top ten change too much.
