Disney's The Jungle Book (2016) took the top spot at the box office with an estimated $103.26 million. The film has already made $307 million worldwide and will continue to perform well in the coming weeks. Melissa McCarthy's The Boss dropped to the #3 spot with $9.95 million but still managed to squeak past Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice for the second week in a row. The House of Mouse's other film in the top ten Zootopia is still going strong finishing at the #5 spot with $8.14 million. Zootopia has grossed over 883 million worldwide, and will likely finish above $900 million.
The other two newcomers didn't do as well as The Jungle Book, but Barbershop: The Next Cut performed decently, taking the #2 spot with $20.24 million. On the other hand, Kevin Costner's action thriller Criminal (2016) didn't fare as well as either film. Criminal debuted at #6 with an estimated $5.67 million and will only plummet downward from here. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice had to settle for the #4 spot with $9.06 million. With a worldwide cume of $829 million, Zack Synder's depressing growl fest will struggle to cross $900 million.
